Truth

So, tell me the truth! Is Barak Obama really black? The answer is yes. There are no if's, and's, or but's about it. He is clearly black, that is the truth. Am I white? The answer is yes. I have white skin, my ethnicity is Caucasian. I can tell myself all the heck I want I am black, but every time I look in the mirror what am I going to see? My lack of colored pigment. DUH!

"If I produce lemons, I am a lemon tree. I can't say I'm a lemon tree and produce oranges. Truth is truth you ding-a-ling"
What an obvious point, right? Where am I going with this? Well, a few months ago my old Children's pastor came from Utah to speak to my church. Prior to this I had got a perspective of truth from my Youth Pastor's wife, but he gave me a much more vivid view of the concept, truth.

Truth, be definition excludes all definitions. There is one so, how can their possibly be a personal belief that fits? It drives me insane when people say, "well, I believe this..." or "if you believe this..." no. If I say "I believe I have money in my purse," yet my purse is empty, I can keep on believing but is that going to put money in my purse! Obvious.
I'm sure you're squinting at the screen and looking real close in search of my point. It is coming I swear.
B.C & A.D represent Before Christ & After Death. Regardless of what you "believe", Jesus existed and time was split in half because of it. You can't make your own personal definition of those letters and expect it to be true. That is just as true as dogs walking on two legs. It does not happen.
Truth is steadfast, unmovable. You can't mold truth like you can clay. There is one.
Most people would agree and say by me saying what I am about to say that I am arrogant. But...
Jesus is the only truth. His way is the only way to heaven. (John 14:6)
You can say all you want that there is more than one way, but there isn't. I stand firm in that.
I know what you want to say, "how can your truth be the only truth?" Well, the answer is quite simple. Jesus rose from the dead. Every other originator of any faith is dead and continues to be dead.

You want truth to be relative, right? Fit to your every desire and make your life easier by creating a truth that constantly changes. Sure, that's fine, but what if you're being lied to? Ouch! You want there to be an absolute truth now don't you?
I cannot emphasize this enough:
IF THERE IS MORE THAN ONE TRUTH, IT IS NOT TRUTH.
You want the truth. You can't say "my truth is..." that's poop! Yes, poop.
The truth, is what it is, not what you want it to be.

The inconvenient truth,  is that Jesus is the only way because he tells you what you can and cannot do. The reality of the entire thing is that he is only doing it for your own good. He says to stop sinning for two major reasons:
1. Because he loves you and the aftermath of sin will destroy you, so he is looking out for you well-being.
2. Because he has a kingdom waiting for you.

If you're seeking truth in your life, Jesus is the only way to go. I am not trying to "convert" you, but I am saying that you should look for a personal relationship with Jesus because it's for your good, not for the good of a church.

There is one truth, and if truth isn't relative, then what is it?
