I think far too much for my own good, oh well, here it goes:
Often times we wallow in what we cannot control. We can't control things that happen in our lives, we can't control others' opinions, we can't control how people treat us, we can't control how people see us, and we can't control life's obstacles.
The fault in wallowing in what we cannot control lies in our blindness toward everything we can control. My "whiners" post, and my previous one are perfect examples; we cannot control what happens in our lives, but we can choose how we look at it. We take highly for granted what we can control so we forget to use that power.
Am I making sense?
I am trying so hard to explain this. I am the kind of person who will look at the bright side in literally everything. It is not the hardest thing ever, if you really look, you can find it. I am encouraging that with all urgency. Your life will always be a sunshine.
Example:
"I'm sick, but at least I can still go to class and drive, my nose is just a little stuffy."
"We might be broke and losing our house, but at least we still have each other."
"I might be broke but at least I'm getting an education."
"My sister died, but at least she's in a better place."
"He broke my heart, but at least I know there is someone better out there for me."
Whenever you find yourself unable to see the light at the end of the tunnel, or the sunshine you really are currently standing in, I encourage you to find the "at least" in your situation.
