I needed God to tell me something. I figured since while Dillon and I were dating and I insisted on saying goodnight that I should ask God to say something to me before I went to sleep.
I was flipping through Psalms and Proverbs but it wasn't until I read Job 22: 21-23:
"Submit to God and be at peace with
him;
in this way prosperity will come to
you.
Accept instruction from his mouth
and lay up his words in your heart.
If you return to the Almighty, you will
be restored:
If you remove wickedness far from
your tent..."
For some reason I felt the need to look up prosperity in the dictionary:
pros·per·i·ty [pro-sper-i-tee]
1.a successful, flourishing, or thriving condition, especially in financial respects; good fortune.
I didn't know that!
I've been so worried about money; I'm taking out loans and I'm wanting to go to an expensive college. I don't even have a job!
Reading this verse is not only an answer to prayer but it is yet another confirmation that if I just submit everything to Him that I'll be prosperous: GOOD FORTUNE.
I don't aspire to be rich, in fact, it scares me to be rich, however, I don't want financial issues. I want to be able to tithe and give to missions, not struggle to put clothes on my kids' backs or food on the table. I want to be able to help the less fortunate not be the less fortunate.
God knows that and anything is possible with God!
