Alarm Clock Analogy/Sermon

My younger sister and I go to the same high school. She is a sophomore and I am a senior. Since I have a car, I take her to school every morning. Usually I am the one to wake up on time to get out the door by 7:40am but she isn't always so on top of things. I often find myself having to turn the fan on in the bathroom or turning on music to avoid hearing her alarm because she sleeps through it.
We all know how annoying the sound of an alarm is.
Of course, it got me thinking. (In addition to a sermon my pastor preached the Wednesday before, about God always being faithful) that the alarm clock will always go off. No matter what you're dreaming about or if you slept at all, when the time hits for the alarm to sound it's going to do just that.
So, how does this relate?
Setting the alarm goes hand in hand with discipline; you know when you're all the sudden motivated? You get all these goals and say you're going to live for God, you're going to give this up, and you're ready to live better. You let God in.
Then what?
God (the alarm) like the faithful person he is, is going to alert you. Give you opportunity, create paths for you.
In 1 Peter 5:8 it says Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. If you're sleeping, the enemy can easily devour you. Can you fight back when you're not alert? There isn't a way for you to avoid the enemy if your lazy butt sleeps through everything that is telling you to get up and FIGHT!
In Mark 13:33 it says Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.  We do not know the day or hour in which the Lord is coming back, therefore we must be alert!
The Bible has a lot to offer about being alert like 1 Thessalonians 5:6 says So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.
DO NOT BE LIKE OTHERS WHO ARE SLEEP!!
When God wakes you up are you going to say:
5 more minutes! (Snooze), Completely sleep through the whole thing (ignore the call and do what you want), or are you going to GET UP and do what he's telling you to do?

God will always be faithful.
Will you let him?
