I want to be:
- A Youth Pastor
- A Model
- A Photographer
- A Teacher
- A Journalist
I am going to take classes, get myself out there, write until my fingers bleed, and take photo's until I my hands fall off. I cannot let myself be afraid to fail, I am going to live this one life I have to the fullest. I believe, in the depths of my very big heart that with the correct drive and determination that I will achieve every single one so long as I keep my focus on God.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Colossians 3:23-24
It says work at it with all my heart, WHATEVER I DO! I am not copying someone Else's dream, I am taking what I love and I am hoping more than anything else that I can inspire and reach people through it. I want my story and my success to be a testimony to everyone, including the haters; the people who made fun of me. I want to prove them all wrong, I want to make my family proud, but more than anything I want to show the Love of Jesus to everyone I come in contact with. I want to be serving people through Jesus, I don't want to please anyone but my Maker; He put me on this earth and I am confident that I cannot achieve anything unless God helps me.
Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4
Psalm 37:4
These are the desires of my heart, since I have done nothing and will continue to do nothing that doesn't delight myself in the Lord I shouldn't worry. I need to watch myself, majorly! The last thing I want to become is an air-headed, self-centered person. I live for Jesus, and I refuse to do any of the things I listed without first consulting The Big Man upstairs. I want my life to be full.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
John 10:10
This is what my Jesus wants for me. I believe that this dry spell I'm having is God's way of getting super close to me so that I remember this experience and don't fall back into the vicious cycle of living for Jesus and getting caught up in my own life. Since I came to college, He has shown me that I need to stop being so stubborn, controlling, and analytical. My life is in His hands for good and I have no business trying to figure out His timing or trying to direct my own steps.
I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps.
Jeremiah 10:23
Jeremiah 10:23
He is in control! I refuse to try snatching it from Him, having joy in this life even with spending this much time alone is something I don't want to let go. I am through with my phase of thinking that all of these dreams are out of reach, they are not.
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13
Philippians 4:13
See that? My Lord's word says I can do everything through him.
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Matthew 19:26
Matthew 19:26
All things are possible with God, see that there is no stipulations? God didn't say "some things", He said all things. Came directly from His mouth!
I want to travel, I want to have stylish clothing but guess what? It is no longer my main goal. It used to be, but I know that God will give me things that I want, His word says it! Delighting myself in Him is my main goal and I can only hope that if He sees fit that I will receive everything that I have been wanting. He has showed me it before! I am not just saying it, or whatever, but God has pulled through, He has given me things I have asked for. Anything He hasn't granted me has been for a reason, most of those reasons become clear later.
So, in closing, since I mentioned Bible verses, I want everyone who reads this to know that YOU can achieve your dreams too! God says so.
